Murano, Italy

Yep, I've been a busy girl these past couple of days, so if you missed my post on Burano, Italy (the island near Venice with all the brightly colored houses), click HERE.  It's one you won't want to miss.  If you missed the post on the end of Google Reader and my suggestion for Blog Lovin', it's an important one, so click HERE.  I wouldn't want you to miss out on any of the happenings from Via Fontanelle!

And now on to the business at hand.  Let's talk about Murano, Italy!

Murano is one of those places that I've always wanted to visit since moving to Italy.  Located in the Venetian Lagoon, its a quick and easy 20 minute (tops) ride on the vaporetto.  Knowing my price range, I really didn't expect to buy a whole lot there and while Murano didn't have quite the charm that Burano had, I still loved every second of our visit there. The entire island is LITERALLY covered in shops selling beautiful (yet expensive) glass! My only caution is this--most of the shops on Murano sell real Murano class--you'll see a special sticker of authenticity--but there are some that sell cheap knock-off glass from China.  My question to you is this--if you're going to Murano to buy Murano glass, whu would you buy the cheap stuff from China? Enjoy!

I'd appreciate your vote!
